Bambusa tuldoides 'Punting Pole Bamboo'

      A fast growing tight green timber bamboo that produces a large number of thick walled culms growing in a very straight tight clump. Hardy and drought tolerant bamboos in TX and is excellent for large privacy screen.  Once established, It form a very dense tall privacy screen between neighbors.  

 

It is easy to use in construction, because it can easily be cut when green and then dried into a durable pole. Cut culms traditionally used to push boats in rivers and streams (the non-football definition of "punt" is: to propel a boat by thrusting a pole against the bottom of a river, stream, or lake).
